Closing Gaps (in a Circular Economy)
Saturday, April 13, 2019
12:30 pm – 3:00 pm
This April you are invited to come together to tackle our plastic legacy in creative ways. You don’t need to be an artist to take part. Anyone with an interest in producing something using plastic, whether in an art studio or a local industry, is welcome at the table.
The host, Andrew Drummond, is a young multi-skilled designer who has spent the last decade investigating the gaps in our recycling systems, where some types of plastic waste go completely unaddressed “due to global market factors” as Moray Council say in their recycling guide.
After several years of practising with 3D printing and helping at local recycling charities, Andrew has now got support from the Glasgow School of Art to research the issue of how to best make use of plastic locally in a circular economy.
Medine’s Mediterranean kitchen will be serving a scrumptious buffet lunch for this event.
